Ghost Rockets centers on human desire to explore and explain the unknown. The film weaves together an ambitious UFO investigation with a personal story that gives a rare insight into the hearts and minds of a UFO-investigator.

Every year, the organization UFO‐Sweden receives numerous reports about inexplicable occurrences ‐ usually dismissed as having to do with the moon, airplanes, satellites or mental instability on the part of the witness. Sometimes, though, they get a report that they are unable to explain, one of them being the story of the ghost rocket. Under the leadership of journalist Clas Svahn, the organisation starts a costly expedition trying to find the strange craft. Its thrilling premise notwithstanding, Ghost rockets is not primarily a film about UFOs. It is a film about enthusiasts with a fervent interest, about an organisation struggling with their finances and shrinking membership numbers, about annual meetings over coffee and pastry, about existential issues debated in the summer night and about our need to believe that the world is bigger than we think.

Ufo-föremål ställdes ut på gymnasieskola

"During the weekend May 18-19, 1996 UFO-Sweden arranged the annual conference and expo at Ängelholm. A memorable event for many UFO-Sweden members, who would get an opportunity to listen to Gösta Carlsson relating his story at the site where the landing occurred.

As Gösta Carlsson had become something of a celebrity in Ängelholm the media interest for the conference was all time high. When the expo opened at 10 a.m. on Saturday the 18th hundreds of visitors entered Ängelholms gymnasieskola (senior high school). UFO-Sweden representatives had a busy time guiding and informing about the various activities and UFO investigation in Sweden.

Of special interest was the exhibition show-case displaying the ring and rod that Gösta Carlsson had found at the place where the craft landed. The show-case was made of armored glass and guarded by a man from Securitas, which of course raised a few eyebrows. This was the first and only time the ring and rod were publicly displayed."

"The monument is a scaled-down replica of the craft observed by Gösta Carlsson and is now an offical part of the Ängelholm cultural heritage."

"Special guest speaker was Dr. Anton Geels, professor of Psychology of Religion at the University of Lund. He presented a psychological perspective of encounters with unknown entities."

Historielärarföreningens ordförande Thomas Nordholm har själv studerat religionspsykologi för Anton Geels på Lunds universitet. Geels anmärkte i en tentamenskommentar på att Nordholm hade alla rätt på Geels tenta. Geels var osäker på om Nordholm hade förstått frågorna eller bara hade ett bra minne. Tentan med Geels kommentar finns sparad. Geels och Nordholm talades aldrig vid efter detta.

Nordholm hade på Lärarhögskolan i Malmö också fått tillsägelse av utbildarna om att han hade för höga resultat på tentorna. Han uppmanades lägga mindre tid på sina studier. Nordholm följde denna uppmaning.

En gång straffade det sig. En tjej från Umeå och en tjej från Vellinge ville spela badminton med Nordholm. Seminariet i Lund drog över tiden. Nordholm ursäktade sig med att han var tvungen att åka tillbaka till Malmö för en inbokad badmintontid och reste sig när tiden gått ut. Seminarieledaren i historia i Lund såg inte nådigt på detta, utan sänkte betyget till enbart godkänt, för att Nordholm inte ville sitta över tiden som de andra som lydde seminarieledarens order.
