Under sin forskning i Irak träffade svensken Carl Vahtra koranbrännaren Salwan Momika, då ledare i en kristen milis med kopplingar till Iran.

– När jag såg hans namn nu blev jag inte förvånad. Det är klart att det måste vara Salwan, säger Carl Vahtra."

"Fick också ett mejl från historieprofessorn Greg Eghigian som vill använda en bild jag tog av Philip Klass 2005 då vi träffades i hans hem i Washington DC. Bilden ska användas i Gregs bok ”After the flying saucers came: A global history of the UFO phenomenon som ges ut av Oxford University Press nästa år. Greg har besökt AFU och grävt i arkivet och en hel del av det ni kan läsa om i hans bok har sina faktarötter hos oss."

"Sunak is a practising Hindu, although he has rarely talked publicly about his faith. He was named as the UK’s next leader on Diwali, the festival of lights celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. It celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

Two years ago, when Sunak was chancellor, he lit candles to mark Diwali on the doorstep of No 11 Downing Street at a time when Covid restrictions remained in force.

“It was one of my proudest moments that I was able to do that on the steps of Downing Street. It was one of my proudest moments of the job that I had for the last two years,” he: told the Times earlier this year.

University of Oxford debate: Why aliens could exist

Oxplore.org is an outreach resource by Oxford University which is aimed at 11-18 years old. They recently had a 45 minute debate titled "Do aliens exist?", published on YouTube (9 December 2021): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-5ggoygoOM

Today (26 December 2021) Oxford University posted an excerpt from this debate on their official Twitter account and titled it "Why aliens could exist". https://twitter.com/UniofOxford/status/1475121976154877954

They also made a poll on Twitter asking "Do you believe aliens exist?" and, at the time of writing, 63% of the respondents answered "Yes". https://twitter.com/UniofOxford/status/1475162413322354697 Needless to say, I strongly encourage you to participate and tag anyone who may want to contribute.

Oxford University is, by many metrics, the best and most prominent academic institution in the world. I think you will agree that the timing, seriousness and target audience of this debate are remarkable.
