An Iranian-Swedish analyst and outspoken critic of the Islamic Republic has told The Jerusalem Post he believes Tehran was behind an alleged murder plot against him in Sweden, after a teenager armed with a knife came to his home in Malmo and asked for him at the door.

Arvin Khoshnood, a researcher and commentator on Iranian affairs, said that the attempted attack last September has since been folded into a wider Swedish criminal case involving multiple defendants, a separate shooting in another city, and alleged plans to target a defense company linked to Israeli military cooperation."

"Sapo said Iran and its intelligence and security services have long conducted security-threatening activity against Sweden, including intelligence-gathering and the mapping of opposition figures. It also noted that Iran has previously planned and carried out violent acts in Sweden using proxies.

The agency added that the current regional escalation has increased the threat to American, Israeli, and Jewish interests, as well as to Iranian opposition groups and individuals in Sweden."

A Statement by House Minority Leader Gerald R. Ford, R-Mich. On the Air 2 P.M., March 25, 1966

I believe Congress should thoroughly investigate the rash of reported sightings of unidentified flying objects in Southern Michigan and other parts of the country.

I feel a congressional inquiry would be most worthwhile because the American people are intensely interested in the UFO stories, and some people are alarmed by them.

Air Force investigators have been checking on such reports for years but have come up with nothing very conclusive.

In the light of these new sightings and incidents near Ann Arbor, Michigan, and elsewhere, it would be a very wholesome thing for a committee of the Congress to conduct hearings and to call responsible witnesses from the executive branch of the government and other witnesses who say they have sighted these objects.

I think the American people would feel better if there was a full-blown investigation of these mysterious flying objects, which some persons honestly believe that they have seen.

"Ok, so for one, I think that it kind of sucks because part of the fun of watching foreign films as an American is the chance to interact with other languages and to hear how people talk around the world. That's something that is really cool and I value it a lot.

However, saying that American audiences should just suck it up and read subtitles is not realistic, especially in a world where young people are getting less and less literate. We are obviously the exception who dont care and will watch anything, but a LARGE audience in this country will balk at it. I have had friends who I know will love a movie based on their taste, but will not want to watch subtitles. I get that it sucks, but it's the truth.

If this practice includes the original actors, is sanctioned by the filmmakers, and is something they want to do to try to reach a bigger audience, then I dont see whats wrong with it other than "AI bad." I think we should all be cheering for smaller movies with original concepts to reach bigger audiences, and this is an opportunity for lots of smaller markets to reach across the pond whether we like it or not.

Also, if a director who started working in another country could get a hit with this tech, they could get a bigger check to make something possibly original and maybe in English language markets, which would then reach more people through that direction of foreign market sales. I'm thinking of someone like Sweden's own Thomas Alfredson, who hit big with Let The Right One In, and then got to do Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Snowman (which looks per IMDB like hollywood sent him right back to sweden after that one).

However, if this becomes the only way to see the movie, THEN i'd be pissed off. So I can see both the positives and negatives of this, I guess"
