Negativa omdömen när sekten UFO-Sverige dubbas till engelska

"This sucks. I don’t want to fucking watch dubs and if this kind of thing takes hold it’ll ruin watching foreign films."

"Yeah no they can suck my dick, people can read subtitles and hear another language it won't fucking kill them. This feels like it's tantamount to declaring that English is the superior language and all other cultures and languages must bend to its shape and sound. Fuck AI and fuck the 2020s this is a heinous decade"

"Well now I know what I'm not watching."

"Fuck this movie and fuck AMC"

"Yeah that sucks. Won't watch it."

"Ok, so for one, I think that it kind of sucks because part of the fun of watching foreign films as an American is the chance to interact with other languages and to hear how people talk around the world. That's something that is really cool and I value it a lot.

However, saying that American audiences should just suck it up and read subtitles is not realistic, especially in a world where young people are getting less and less literate. We are obviously the exception who dont care and will watch anything, but a LARGE audience in this country will balk at it. I have had friends who I know will love a movie based on their taste, but will not want to watch subtitles. I get that it sucks, but it's the truth.

If this practice includes the original actors, is sanctioned by the filmmakers, and is something they want to do to try to reach a bigger audience, then I dont see whats wrong with it other than "AI bad." I think we should all be cheering for smaller movies with original concepts to reach bigger audiences, and this is an opportunity for lots of smaller markets to reach across the pond whether we like it or not.

Also, if a director who started working in another country could get a hit with this tech, they could get a bigger check to make something possibly original and maybe in English language markets, which would then reach more people through that direction of foreign market sales. I'm thinking of someone like Sweden's own Thomas Alfredson, who hit big with Let The Right One In, and then got to do Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Snowman (which looks per IMDB like hollywood sent him right back to sweden after that one).

However, if this becomes the only way to see the movie, THEN i'd be pissed off. So I can see both the positives and negatives of this, I guess"

Oxfords universitet tror att utomjordingar kan vara mer lika oss än vi tror

31 okt. 2017 — Hollywood films and science fiction literature fuel the belief that aliens are monster-like beings, who are very different to humans.

Hollywood films and science fiction literature fuel the belief that aliens are monster-like beings, who are very different to humans. But new research suggests that we could have more in common with our extra-terrestrial neighbours, than initially thought.

In a new study published in the International Journal of Astrobiology scientists from the University of Oxford show for the first time how evolutionary theory can be used to support alien predictions and better understand their behaviour. They show that aliens are potentially shaped by the same processes and mechanisms that shaped humans, such as natural selection.

The theory supports the argument that foreign life forms undergo natural selection, and are like us, evolving to be fitter and stronger over time.

Sam Levin, a researcher in Oxford’s Department of Zoology, said: ‘A fundamental task for astrobiologists (those who study life in the cosmos) is thinking about what extra-terrestrial life might be like. But making predictions about aliens is hard. We only have one example of life - life on Earth -- to extrapolate from."
