"Svahn is also vice chairman and international director of the National Organization UFO-Sweden since the organization's national meeting in Halmstad on May 4, 2013 , when he chose to leave the chairmanship and Anders Berglund was elected new chairman by the annual meeting. During the years 1991–2013, Svahn was chairman of the national organization. Since 2017 chairman of Archives for the unexplained (also known as the Archive for UFO research ), AFU, in Norrköping. Svahn launched in an editorial in the organization's magazine UFO-Aktuellt number 2, 1994, under the heading "The third way", the so-called third way ufology which says that UFO-Sweden should work objectively and without preconceived notions regarding the UFO issue, "not skeptical denial but also not uncritically believing ".
Svahn is also the editor of UFO-Sweden's magazine UFO-Aktuellt.
Svahn is the main character in a documentary about UFO-Sweden with the title Ghost Rockets which in a 70 minute version premiered at Gothenburg Film Festival on January 25, 2015. The film was broadcast on Swedish Television on March 10, 2016, then shortened to 58 minutes and was repeated on SVT on September 28, 2017. The film is directed by Michael Cavanagh and Kerstin Übelacker and was also sold to Norway, Denmark and Canada.
In 2012 and 2014, he led two expeditions to Lake Nammajaure in Muddu National Park to search for a sunken so-called ghost rocket that was seen landing there in 1980, and a new expedition is planned but no date has yet been set."
